Job Description  

This Director of Business Development will be responsible for:

  • Researching and identifying potential new clients.
  • Calling on existing and prospective clients to introduce capabilities and experience in an effort to create new business relationships.
  • Developing, leading, and participating in both general capability and proposal presentations to potential clients.
  • Qualifying leads and creating proposals in conjunction with assigned Scientific and Operations staff input.
  • Developing and maintaining existing client relationships with assigned strategic accounts, collaborating with Scientific and Operations staff as required to ensure client satisfaction with company’s services.

Required Skills and Experience Include:

  • Must be very energetic, creative, organized and detail-oriented.
  • Demonstrated success at managing multiple opportunities and projects simultaneously.
  • Must have strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability and eagerness to work under pressure and at the front lines of dynamic environment.
  • Knowledge of the CRO, medical device and/or pharmaceutical & biotech industries is preferred.
  • Ability to accomplish the described duties through the use of Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and to exhibit effective interpersonal skills.
  • Requires a Bachelors/Masters Degree or equivalent in Business Discipline or Life Sciences degree to include major in: Chemistry, Biology, Pharmacology, Toxicology, Biochemistry, Immunology, Biotechnology, etc.
  • 5+ years relevant experience. Demonstrated competences interfacing with external parties in business development, marketing, product management, or a sales context are a plus.
