Nikolay Savchuk, Ph.D. President & CEO
Prior to joining ChemDiv Dr. Savchuk held various business and research management positions in the IT industry with companies in Singapore and Russia. Since joining the company he has held positions of increasing responsibility including Director of Information Technologies, Director and Vice President of Business Development. Dr. Savchuk has a PhD in Physics and Mathematics from Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology. He is the author of over 60 scientific papers.
Alexander Ivachtchenko, Prof., DSc. Chief Scientific Officer, Founder
Professor Ivachtchenko is the founder of ChemDiv, Chief Scientific Officer and the founding
member of the Scientific Advisory Board. He is the recipient of multiple European awards
in the field of heterocyclic chemistry and has earned the prestigious title
of Honored Inventor of the Russian Federation. Professor Ivachtchenko has a PhD
in Chemistry from the Institute of Chemical Industry, a DSc in Chemistry from Mendeleev
University of Chemical Technology. He is the author of 4 text books, 173 scientific
papers and 141 patent applications.
Ronald Demuth, B.S., C.R.A. General Manager
Prior to joining ChemDiv Mr. Demuth held the positions of General Manager at Integrated Genomics. He has a long track record in the management of new ventures including holding the position of CEO of Cerulean Enterprises. Mr. Demuth has a BSc in Psychology from the University of Iowa and was a co-founder of the internationally-recognized Chicago Teacher Academy for Mathematics and Science with the Nobel Laureate Physicist, Leon Lederman. He is the author of 13 scientific papers.
Yan Lavrovsky, M.D., Ph.D., Executive Director Biology
Yan Lavrovsky is a trained physician, who also has a Ph.D. in molecular and cellular biology. Yan completed a postdoctoral work at the Rockefeller University in New York. From 1995 through 2001 Yan was a faculty member at the University of Texas Health Science Center at the Department of Cellular and Structural Biology, when he was a principal investigator on NIH-funded projects. From 2001 until June 2006, Yan had worked in Serono, Inc. in Geneva (Switzerland) and Boston (MA) where he had led and participated in multiple discovery and development projects in oncology and fibrotic diseases. Yan is an author of more than 40 original reviews, original research articles, patents and chapters in books.
Vadim Bichko,Ph.D.
Vice President, Virology
Dr. Bichko is a virologist with15 years of successful research and development
management experience in pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies. Prior to joining
ChemDiv, he was Director of Research at Idenix Pharmaceuticals, a biopharmaceutical
company engaged in the discovery and development of drugs for the treatment of human viral
infectious diseases. Prior to that, he was a leading virology researcher at Scriptgen
(Anadys) Pharmaceuticals and previously held various academic positions at Fox Chase
Cancer Center in Philadelphia, Max-Plank Institute for Biochemistry in Munich, Germany
and the Institute of Organic Synthesis in Riga, Latvia. Dr. Bichko has a Ph.D.
in molecular biology from the University of Latvia in Riga, Latvia. He is the author
of numerous publications and patents in molecular virology.
Ilya Okun, Ph.D. Vice President of Biology and CTO
Prior to joining ChemDiv Dr. Okun was a co-founder of Axiom Biotechnologies and a primary inventor of the company's technological platform for high-definition, cell-based pharmacological assays. He has a long track record in managing of enabling research and development platforms. Dr. Okun has a PhD from the Belarus Academy of Sciences. He is the author of over 100 scientific publications and 7 US patents.
Alexander Khvat, Ph.D. Senior Director, Chemistry
Prior to joining ChemDiv Dr. Khvat held the positions of Senior Research Scientist at the Ukrainian Scientific Research Institute for Pharmacology and Therapy of Endocrine Disorders and Post-Doctoral Research Scientist at the University of Nottingham, UK. He has a nine year track-record in custom synthesis and spectroscopic investigations of organic compounds including completion of over fifty custom and medicinal chemistry projects with major pharmaceutical and biotech companies. Dr. Khvat has a Ph.D. in organic chemistry from Kharkov State University and is the author of 26 scientific papers and 20 patents.
