Pascal Soriot To Remain As Chief Executive Of AstraZeneca
LONDON (Alliance News) - Pascal Soriot is to remain as chief executive of AstraZeneca, the FT reported on Friday, scotching two days of rumours that he was leaving to head rival drugmaker Teva Pharmaceutical Industries.
The London-listed company said it never responded to rumours, which began with an account in Israeli newspaper Calcalist suggesting that Soriot had accepted the top job at Teva and was in the final stages of negotiations.
But AstraZeneca confirmed on Friday that Soriot would be presenting the company's second-quarter earnings as usual on July 27, the FT said, and company insiders said it was business as usual at the UK-based pharmaceutical company.
