HANNOVER, October 2023.

Institute of Virology, Hannover Medical School, reported about notable results in their drug discovery projects, using small molecule libraries designed and provided by ChemDiv Inc.

“A broad HTS program was conducted at the Institute of Virology in Hannover against a number of targets in 7 different viruses, using ChemDIv’s antiviral libraries and different assays”, said Dr. Thomas Schulz, MD, Professor of Virology, Director of Institute of Virology, Hannover Medical School. “We found compounds with interesting activities against RSV (Respiratory Syncytial Virus), BKV (BK polyomavirus), HCMV (Human cytomegalovirus), HSV (Herpes simplex virus), adenovirus, KSHV (Kaposi Sarcoma-associated herpesvirus) and two coronaviruses.”

“We are happy that the further development of several hit series with activity against HCMV, RSV and the two coronaviruses has taken place and the further work in HSV, BKV and KSHV is ongoing” commented Sergey Bugrov, Executive Director of ChemDiv.

“ChemDiv’s feasible chemical space of 13 billion molecules partitioned in validated unique scaffolds and available for modelling is represented by millions of physical compounds. Our unique chemistry immediately provides researchers with many starting points for drug discovery and significantly improves their process”.
