A variety of diseases exists where the ion channels serve as a drug target. For example, cystic fibrosis has several approaches for treatment, targeting ion channels: CFTR treatment by VX-770 (ivacaftor), ENaC blockade with structural analogues of amiloride. Another example is perampanel, antagonist of AMPA receptors, being used as a drug for treatment of partial onset epilepsy. Ion channels such as TRPA1 are involved in pain sensation (Figure 1), making them a potential target for novel chronic pain drugs.

For ion channels studies ChemDiv offers FLIPR® (Fluorescent Imaging Plate Reader) approach. Key advantages of FLIPR® are:
· The simultaneous record of transient fluorescent signals from all the wells of 384-well microplate
· Enhanced sensitivity is accomplished via a patented optical detection scheme, allowing to highly distinguish between specific cell signal and background fluorescence
· Two different fluid addition microplates gives an opportunity of dual stimulus experiments
· Temperature control makes it possible to conduct experiments at physiological conditions
Wide range of diseases ion channels are involved in proves them to be potential drug targets. ChemDiv provides number of assays and Ion Channels focused libraries for HTS campaign and drug development.
